Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience by contributing to a variety of cybersecurity tasks under the supervision of the Information Systems Officer (Cybersecurity).
  • Assist in the creation of documents, templates, and presentations in collaboration with the technical team.
  • Assist in the development and review of cybersecurity awareness materials.
  • Provide basic technical support to users when required.
  • Support the delivery of cybersecurity services in areas such as operations, architecture, risk management, and identity and access management.
  • Participate in the review of documents, training sessions, testing activities, and resilience exercises.
  • Ensure that all cybersecurity-related requests are properly logged, tracked, resolved in a timely manner, documented, and closed in the ticketing system.
  • Assist the Cybersecurity Operations team in reviewing and tracking identified vulnerabilities.
  • Support the use and maintenance of cybersecurity applications and tools.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications/Special Skills

  • Completion of at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in information technology or a related field.
  • Recent completion of, or enrollment in, a Master’s program in the same field is an advantage.
  • No professional work experience is required.

Languages

  • English and French are the official and working languages of the International Court of Justice.
  • Good command of either English or French and a sound working knowledge of the other language is required.
  • Knowledge of Dutch is desirable; knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset.

  • Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations.
  • Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
  • Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the host country may need the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
  • Successful candidates should discuss specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
