Position Title: Database and ERP Officer

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Senior ICT and Systems Manager

Location: Remote / Outside Afghanistan

Position Summary

The Database and ERP Officer is responsible for advanced administration, development,

customization, and support of AUAF’s enterprise databases and ERP platforms. The position

provides second- and third-level technical support for all database systems and ERP applications,

including Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC.

Key Outcomes

The Database and ERP Officer will:

· Ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance operation of all database and ERP systems.

· Maintain and enhance existing ERP customizations and integrations.

· Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex system issues.

· Support continuous improvement of ERP workflows, reporting, and integrations.

· Support stable, secure, and well-documented information systems operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and optimize enterprise databases and information systems.

• Manage backup, recovery, and data protection processes to ensure system availability and

integrity.

• Monitor system performance and apply tuning, optimization, and corrective actions as required.

• Provide technical and techno-functional support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC.

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing ERP customizations, extensions, and

configurations.

• Apply required changes to ERP reports and develop new reports based on functional

requirements.

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs and integration tools to enable seamless data exchange

with external systems.

• Support code optimization, restructuring, and documentation to ensure maintainability and

scalability.

• Document technical procedures, system configurations, SOPs, and development standards.

• Prepare periodic operational, technical, and performance reports for the Senior ICT and

Systems Manager.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior ICT and Systems Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a

related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in database administration, system

development, and ERP support roles.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC, including customizations and

extensions.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SSIS and SSRS.

• Proven experience in developing integrations and APIs for enterprise systems.

• Strong knowledge of .NET, ASP.NET Core, C#, and related web technologies.

• Experience with Power BI and enterprise reporting tools is highly desirable.

• Functional understanding of financial and operational systems is an advantage.

• Fluency in English (spoken and written).

• Flexibility to provide extended or after-hours support when required to ensure system continuity.
