We’re Looking for You:

We are looking for a Digital Content & Social Media Intern to fill a paid 10-week summer internship. The intern will be essential in helping maintain and elevate our digital and social media content. The intern can be an undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate (between 2024 and 2025). This position is home-based in the United States and will provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and real-world work. We offer an orientation, professional networking opportunities, and real-world work experience.

What We Can Achieve Together:

The Digital Content & Social Media Intern will support the North America Marketing team in New York by developing high‑quality digital content and strengthening our social media presence. This role will help maintain content production, elevate our digital storytelling efforts, and coordinate with our editorial team to develop social media content calendars.

The Intern will collaborate closely with the New York Digital Strategist and New York Head of Storytelling. They will also have the opportunity to work with our key spokespeople, and scientists to produce visual assets. The Intern will report to the Digital Strategist.

As the Digital Content & Social Media Intern, you will:

  • Develop and maintain social media content calendars, planning 3–6 months of content and producing corresponding visual assets.
  • Create digital content, including graphics, short videos, and other visual materials to support platform‑specific posts.
  • Support community management by monitoring engagement, responding to comments, and maintaining consistent brand voice across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal partners—including the Digital Strategist, Head of Storytelling, and subject matter experts—to plan, draft, and produce content aligned with the editorial calendar.
  • Research and develop expert‑led video concepts, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, and coordinating with scientists and spokespeople.
  • Edit and assemble video content for digital use, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and alignment with key messages.
  • Analyze social media performance, create a comprehensive performance report, and offer strategic recommendations for future content and channel optimization.

What You’ll Bring:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • HS Diploma or equivalent. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/ or graduate program of communications, marketing, or related field, or a recent graduate with a degree in one of these or a related field.
  • Knowledge of/interest in content creation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in research, writing, and editing
  • Close attention to detail
  • Access to a reliable internet connection

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Coursework and/or exposure related to communications/marketing
  • Self-starter, taking initiative, and demonstrating confidence to ask questions and seek input
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, with the ability to construct and produce reports
  • Experience creating content calendars, writing social media posts, and producing digital visual assets.
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills, with experience in tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, or similar
  • Interest in social media metrics, analytics tools, and performance reporting.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

This is a full-time, home-based, temporary internship position with a 10-week term from June 1 to August 7, 2026.

Salary Information:

The pay for a candidate selected for this position is $17.00 /hour. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
