Job Description

Duration: 6 months

Key Responsibility Tasks

The Digital Marketing Intern will support the daily operations and delivery of the overall marketing plan for the Islamic Relief Shop. The role will also provide ad-hoc support to the wider Digital Marketing team in contributing to Islamic Relief UK’s strategic goals.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Islamic Relief UK Shop, including stock management, website monitoring, and responding to customer queries via the shared inbox.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and delivering marketing campaigns across paid, organic, and offline channels, including paid media, email campaigns, social media content, website blogs, and in-person events, to increase visibility and sales.
  • Support the development and launch of new products for the Islamic Relief UK Shop by working closely with the Creative Content team on product design, content creation, and marketing assets.
  • Assist with monitoring and analysing shop performance using key metrics, including supporting regular reporting and financial reporting processes.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams across Islamic Relief UK, external digital marketing agencies, suppliers, and fulfilment partners to support smooth operational delivery.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Recent graduate (within the last two years) with a minimum Honours degree or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proactive, able to take initiative and manage workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and current industry trends.
  • Creative mindset with a willingness to bring forward new ideas.
  • Commitment to Islamic Relief’s faith-driven values and humanitarian principles.
  • Willingness to learn and actively participate in the Internship Scheme.
Skills and Experience to Be Developed
  • Introduction to the humanitarian and non-profit sector.
  • Practical experience in digital marketing and e-commerce within a non-profit organisation.
  • Technical skills in website management, social media, basic data analysis, and content creation.
  • Development of key soft skills such as communication, time management, teamwork, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Exposure to project planning, project management, and delivery processes.
  • Experience using administrative tools and supporting office operations.
  • Understanding of Islamic Relief’s organisational culture, values, and working environment.
