You have a background as an administrative assistant and strong interest in or knowledge of global development and how global organizations work. You’re easily able to communicate in spoken and written English. You thrive in an environment where you’re responsible for your own work and responsible for learning new things, including software platforms like Slack and Salesforce. You enjoy booking travel, arranging meetings, preparing spreadsheets, producing presentations, and handling a wide range of administrative duties.

What you’ll do here
If you’ve read this far, we know that you want to know more. We are looking for an additional Executive Assistant who will work directly with the President & Editor-in-Chief and his Chief of Staff. You’ll be in constant contact throughout your working day, arranging meetings and logistics and solving administrative issues as they arise. This role requires strong professionalism, confidentiality, creativity, attention to detail, and an entrepreneurial attitude.
Your first year will look a little bit like this…
In your first 90 days, you’ll focus on learning how to manage the President and Chief of Staff’s calendar and schedule meetings. Over time, your responsibilities will grow to include:
Booking travel
Making arrangements for in-person and virtual meetings
Preparing briefs for meetings and events
Logging information in Salesforce and pulling lists from Salesforce
Organizing contacts
Handling a range of other administrative duties
Handling logistics for 3-4 bespoke events per quarter
After your first year, you’ll have a strong grasp of how the President and his Chief of Staff work and will have established an efficient workflow. You’ll have learned about Devex and our work in global development, and gotten to know the people and institutions we interact with. You’ll have helped Devex as an organization to work more effectively and brought positivity and joy to our global team.
