Job Description

For the lead evaluator (involvement over a duration of 2 years starting end of 2025):

  • The evaluator has to have a proven experience (15+ years) in organising complex evaluations or in assessing universities, public research organisations or large research programs.

For the peer panel experts (involvement of around 5 person days between September and December 2026)

  • Experts coming from academia and non-university research centres with an academic background as well as a thorough understanding of public research centres. Experience in research centre management and governance is considered as a valuable asset.
  • Experts from non-academic sectors, showcasing a profound knowledge and understanding of research centres.

Peer panel experts must be specialised in one of the following research areas:

Science and technology:

  • Fundamental and applied research in the fields of environmental sciences, information and communication technologies, materials science, and space resources. Specific areas include:
  • Environmental Sensing and Modelling
  • Environmental and Industrial Biotechnologies
  • Environmental Sustainability Assessment and Circularity
  • Space Resources
  • Human Centered AI, Data & Software
  • Intelligent Clean Energy Systems
  • Advanced Analyses and Support
  • Functional Polymers & Particulate Materials
  • Smart Materials
  • Reliable Distributed Systems (Computer science)
  • Scientific Instrumentation and Process Technology
  • Structural Composites

Health:

Oriented fundamental and applied research with a focus on immune-related diseases and cancer, especially regarding:

  • Digital health
  • Preventive medicine
  • Clinical research
  • Precision health

Socio-Economic:

Oriented fundamental and applied research with a focus on the following topics:

  • Labour markets
  • Living conditions
  • Urban development and mobility
  • Migration
  • Health systems

Experts and evaluators need to be fluent in English (French is considered an asset) and open to travel to Luxembourg.
