Job Description

Chemonics seeks a Financial Advisor, Special Projects to join the Risk, Finance, and Compliance (RFC) Division. The Financial Advisor, special projects is a critical leadership position overseeing the financial management and risk mitigation strategies for the supply chain and health focused projects. This role matrix-manages closeout and transition preparation across four financial directors, each responsible for a major revenue stream (Task Order) within our largest health supply chain project. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, the Advisor ensures alignment of financial policies, procedures, and systems across all revenue streams while maintaining a focus on audit preparedness and strategic risk management of the health supply chain. Responsibilities Include:

Strategic Financial Oversight

  • Provide top-level financial guidance and direction across all four Task Order revenue streams for country programs close-out and transition
  • Analyze cross-stream financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks

Risk Management

  • Establish and oversee risk management procedures and processes
  • Conduct regular risk assessments across all revenue streams
  • Implement mitigation strategies for identified risks, including operational, regulatory, and environmental risks

Compliance and Audit Preparedness

  • Ensure adherence to Chemonics HQ QMU policies and USG regulations
  • Lead audit preparedness efforts across all revenue streams
  • Coordinate with external auditors and reviewers as needed

Financial Systems and Reporting

  • Oversee the integration and optimization of financial systems across revenue streams
  • Develop and maintain robust financial reporting mechanisms
  • Provide regular financial updates and insights to senior leadership

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Matrix-manage staff assigned to close-out and transition , providing guidance and support as needed
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across revenue streams
  • Liaise with project office staff and support divisions to ensure consistent financial practices

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on risk management and compliance
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA, CIA, or CFE certification preferred
  • Proven experience in matrix management and leadership roles on USAID projects
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with complex financial data and systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with D365 and other financial reporting systems
  • Willingness to travel internationally 4-8 weeks per year
  • Demonstrates leadership, versatility, and integrity.

The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $103,680 - $129,600.

An employee’s pay position will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.

Overtime exemption status may change due to state regulatory requirements.
