Overview: DT Global is seeking Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) experts for future consulting opportunities. The GESI consultants will work in DT Global’s Learning and Innovation (L&I) Practice to provide technical advise across the company to ensure that GESI is integrated into all aspects of DT Global’s values, business development, programming and operations. Consultants will assist in the integration of gender-sensitive programming elements in proposals and program implementation in accordance with global best practices as well as donor and DT Global requirements. Consulting assignments will be needs-based and shared with the consultant pool on an ongoing basis.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Review assigned solicitations and ensure responsiveness to all requirements regarding gender equity, women’s empowerment, diversity and social inclusion, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ populations, in line with donor and DT Global best practices
- Write all gender and inclusion sections on assigned proposals within the schedule established by the BD manager, address feedback, and provide inputs for the reviews of each color draft
- Work with technical teams to identify and advise on the most appropriate performance indicators pertaining to gender and social inclusion
- For USAID proposals, ensure adherence to ADS Chapter 205, pertaining to integrating gender equality and female empowerment in USAID’s program cycle and, as appropriate, awareness of such USAID tools and priorities as the Women’s Economic Empowerment and Equality (WE3) Dashboard, Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response methodologies, and other guidance and learning products emerging from USAID’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Hub within the Bureau for Development, Democracy and Innovation
- Coordinate activities with technical teams and proposal writers to ensure all approaches and methods for gender equity, diversity and social inclusion, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ populations are fully integrated throughout each assigned proposal
- Work with DT Global’s Director of Program Excellence and/or BD managers to ensure costs are appropriately budgeted for within corresponding cost proposals
- In coordination with proposal recruiter, review CVs for all senior-level GESI candidates and participate in candidate interview process
Direct Project Support
- As requested, provide technical guidance to different field programs and DT Global divisions, including Program Management Units (PMUs)
- As requested, assist PMUs and field teams with drafting project deliverables, gender and social inclusion plans and submissions to the donor
- Troubleshoot for projects (PMUs and field teams), including through guidance, ideas, and support to projects when teams need support in designing and/or implementing GESI activities and/or technical needs as determined by projects
Education & Minimum Qualifications:
- Relevant college degree, Masters’ degree preferred
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience supporting USAID and other donor-funded programs designing and implementing GESI systems, deliverables, and measures
- Fluency in ADS 205 and related USAID regulations and standards related to gender equity, diversity and social inclusion, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ populations through the program cycle
- Significant experience contributing to or leading USAID proposal responses with GESI requirements
- Proven analytical skills
- Strong writing skills and experience drafting analytical reports and proposals
- Fluency in languages beyond English is desirable
- Strong technical background in one or more of the following technical areas is desirable: conflict, stabilization & transition, peacebuilding, C/PVE, democracy & governance, resilience, WASH, economic growth, energy, and climate change & environment
- Field experience overseeing and implementing GESI approaches, frameworks, and compliance is desirable
Deliverables:
- The consultant(s) specific deliverables will be determined by project needs and specific engagement.
Anticipated Duration:
- The consultant(s) period of performance could range anywhere between two weeks and six months, with actual periods of performance based on the nature of the work and type of assignment.
