Position summary & job purpose:

Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) is a leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services. It’s global energy business is looking to recruit a part time consultant to manage and implement its existing energy sector projects in the MENA region, and also support identification and sourcing of new business in the MENA region. A successful candidate will be conversant in energy sector trends across the region, particularly with respect to the development of renewable generation, adoption of new technologies, such as battery storage, and electrification of vehicles. This position will report out of our office in Arlington, VA, however, the candidate should ideally be located in the MENA region. The initial engagement will be for one year, with the possibility of extension.

Position responsibilities:

Technical & Project Management

  • Manage a portfolio of energy sector projects, and be responsible for project delivery on a variety of projects and work streams that will include technical deliverables, project reports, presentations, and other work products.
  • Lead project engagements and interactions with clients.
  • Oversee and engage with sub-contractors or other consultants engaged on projects.
  • In conjunction with home office project managers, oversee budgeting and cost control on projects.
  • Deploy technical expertise where needed on utility modernization, renewable energy, storage deployment, and electric mobility.
  • Develop thought leadership and position papers for publication on energy transition issues.

Business Development

  • Support growth strategy development and market research in MENA.
  • Develop lines of business within Tetra Tech’s strategic interest, characterizing the landscape for competition, partnership, and talent.
  • Generate new client relationships through business outreach, conferences, and proposals.
  • Support or lead preparation of expressions of interests and proposals, including researching technical topics and drafting technical inputs
  • Attend industry conferences and events to promote Tetra Tech where needed.

Essential KSA’s required (experience, skills, education, certification, etc.):

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field including business administration, engineering, technology, renewable energy, economics.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working on renewable energy / energy transition issues, either from a technical or policy perspective.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to manage several tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Must work effectively under deadlines, both independently and as a team member.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and Arabic.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to project locations and conferences.

Valued but not required KSAs:

  • French language fluency is a plus.
