Chemonics seeks an Information Management System (IMS) Specialist to support the UK Division. The Information Management System (IMS) Specialist will provide support to the roll-out and system administration of the UK Division’s IMS (Aktek’s iO system) to support data capture, storage, and analytics for the UK Division’s portfolio of active projects (training is available for applicants unfamiliar with iO). This role will specifically focus on supporting the maintenance of the IMS for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) of projects and to support users to on-board and use the platform. The Specialist will also work with the MEL Specialist to contribute to the management of knowledge, learning, and information that is gained through our programmes to support our lesson learning process, and to generate insights in support of new business and client reporting activities. Responsibilities

MEL IMS Support

  • Provides primary technical support on the Aktek iO IMS, refining, implementing, and managing the system;
  • Oversees data entry and data management for the UK Division and project databases (approximately seven projects), including maintaining existing databases, and creating new reports and data structures as needed;
  • Support users across seven projects to develop data structures, databases, and dashboards to support their MEL information needs;
  • Provides information systems training (on the iO system) for Chemonics staff;
  • Creates information systems user manuals and resource materials;
  • Provides IMS support and maintenance:
    • Sets up accounts/logins/access controls, etc. for Divisional and Project level users,
    • Troubleshoots problems and issues with the IMS,
    • Keeps current records of all iO users and user types,
    • Handles license increases or renewals,
    • Provides IMS help desk for the organization and its projects.
  • Provide period spot reviews of data structures and existing information to determine quality and relevance to assess quality of usage at project level;
  • Support the MEL team to access cross-cutting information, learning, and trends from project-level data;
  • Support analytics at the project- or divisional-level on an as-needed basis;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Divisional IMS support

    • Support the introduction of a grants IMS to ensure harmony with the MEL IMS in the division.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the principal duties.

  • Relevant professional work experience with developing and/or managing an IMS for an organisation leveraging mixed-methods data and information;
  • Experience and comfort with using information management systems and software to house and analyse data, familiarity with data visualisation tools desirable;
  • Experience delivering IMS training to users and demonstrable ability to tailor to varying tech comfort levels;
  • Familiarity with the Aktek iO system desirable but not essential;
  • Ability to apply knowledge to the process of assessing and resolving problems;
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage, multiple concurrent assignments and tasks;
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts in ways that are appropriate to the requirements and skill levels of the information technology user, client, or group;
  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated soft skills, and ability to take initiative;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
  • Foreign language proficiency in a region in which we operate preferred but not essential;
  • Experience working with IMS platforms in the international development sector preferred but not essential;
  • Degree in information technology, computer science, library science or a related field, or equivalent work experience required;
  • UK work authorization required

12 Months Fixed Term Contract with possible extension
