Compliance and CBI Unit Overview

The Compliance and CBI Unit ensures institutional adherence to IOM rules, regulations, and policies through consistent cross-functional reporting on compliance-related issues. This approach addresses recommendations from both external and internal audits, as well as other comprehensive reviews. The unit’s goal is to integrate structured, evidence-based, and action-oriented information on internal governance, internal controls, and compliance gaps. This is achieved through dedicated proactive management reviews of processes and systems, thereby strengthening the Organization’s preventive response to emerging risks.

By maintaining a robust internal control framework, the unit significantly contributes to the Organization’s success. It facilitates a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and enhancing risk management, control, and governance processes.

Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of Head of Resources Management and the direct supervision of the Resources Management Officer (Grants & Compliance), and in close coordination with relevant Units at the Country Office, this position is responsible and accountable for the following tasks.

  • Work with Program Associate to collect, check and compile data from the relevant working groups, units, and departments and maintain relevant repositories of collected data.
  • Support the collection, verification and analysis of data and background information; and update the Cash Based Interventions (CBI) Requests Tracking Sheet.
  • Proactively assist the development of periodic reports, statistical information, and project monitoring relevant to donor-specific mandates
  • Assist in the coordination and monitoring of the operational, administrative and financial aspects of CBI in accordance with IOM policies and practices as well as donor requirements.
  • Support to ensure cash distributions are properly documented and appropriate measures are taken against fraud, inefficiency, and abuse.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Demonstrate strong interest in Cash Based Interventions (CBI) .
  • Have a working knowledge of English (oral and written); knowledge of Dari or Pashto is an advantage.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to manage data with attention to detail.
  • Motivated to learn and work in a cross-functional humanitarian team.
