Duties and Responsibilities
Transport Connectivity and Logistic Section of ESCAP’s Transport Division supports member States in their efforts to develop sustainable regional transport connectivity in support of the implementation of SDGs. One of our key activities is the Trans-Asian Railway networks. Our work includes promoting necessary measures to improve operational efficiency of transport systems through common regional frameworks, harmonized technical and operational standards and rules, application of new technologies to cross-border transport and innovations and capacity building in logistics.
The internship is for at least 2 months, up to maximum 6 months. The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the Transport Connectivity and Logistic Section.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
