Project title: Greening EU Cooperation Facility –Technical Assistance for the Integration (or Mainstreaming) of Environment, Biodiversity, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in EU Development Cooperation
Brief description:
The overall objective of the actions of which this contract will be a part is to contribute to the transformation towards low-carbon, resource-efficient, circular, resilient and environmentally sustainable development in line with the EU Green Deal, the Paris Agreement, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Sendai Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).
Commencement date of the project: November 2021
Duration of the assignment: 48 months
Requirements:
Under the guidance of the team leader, the expert will provide specialized services in support of EBCD mainstreaming; and will replace the team leader when this one is unavailable, in order to ensure continuity of services.
Qualifications and skills
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in environmental science and/or management, development studies, international relations, economics, natural resources management, engineering, or related disciplines.
- Proven experience and knowledge of established methodologies and tools for the integration (or mainstreaming) of EBCD in policies, programmes, projects and investments.
- Sound knowledge of aid delivery methods and project cycle management.
- High-quality writing and communication skills
- A minimum C1 Level in English.
- A minimum B2 Level in French and/or Spanish.
- A minimum B2 Level in a third language will be considered as an asset.
General professional experience
- At least 7 years of professional experience, including 3 years in the context of development cooperation.
Specific professional experience
- At least 5 years working on EBCD matters, including at least 3 years of professional experience explicitly dedicated to EBCD mainstreaming.
- Work experience in developing countries (in situ) of at least 2 years.Work experience in developing countries (in situ) of at least 5 years.
