Role Summary

This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic, proactive, and detail-oriented professional with a genuine interest in advancing global development goals. As the Marketing & Business Development Associate, you will strengthen our marketing engine, generate high-quality inbound inquiries, and provide essential support across the sales cycle to drive the growth of Devex Pro Funding enterprise subscriptions.

This role blends marketing strategy, lead generation, and content execution (approx. 80% focus) with operational sales support (approx. 20% focus), making you a key contributor to new client acquisition for Devex Enterprise Subscriptions.

Mission: Support Devex’s mission of advancing global development by connecting professionals to news and funding opportunities through effective marketing campaigns and strategic support for business development initiatives.

What You’ll Do Here

I. Strategic Marketing & Lead Generation (≈ 70%)

  • Lead the design, execution, and optimization of marketing campaigns to generate high-quality inbound inquiries (MQLs).
  • Identify and qualify potential leads using Salesforce, social media listening, market research, and competitor analysis.
  • Develop targeted outreach campaigns via email and LinkedIn to engage prospects and key accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Pro Funding Editor to create relevant content for newsletters, spotlights, webinars, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Manage email workflows, segmentation, and performance tracking to optimize campaign performance.
  • Monitor KPIs and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Draft compelling marketing copy and coordinate with central marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging across channels.
  • Stay informed on global development and digital media trends to enhance content and engagement strategies.

II. Operational Sales Support (≈ 30%)

  • Create and update Salesforce opportunities from marketing-generated leads, ensuring accurate records and strong pipeline hygiene.
  • Draft professional follow-up emails and prepare briefing notes for prospects.
  • Provide coverage during team absences to ensure continuity of communication with high-priority leads.
  • Support logistics for internal and external events relevant to Devex Pro Funding.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Required Experience & Skills

  • At least one year of experience working in a sales team, communications agency, or a marketing role designed to drive growth.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to produce clear and compelling marketing and outreach content.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple campaigns and tasks simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working with CRM systems (Salesforce, Marketo, and Apollo experience preferred).
  • Interest in global development, funding trends, and digital subscription products.
