National Market Access Coordinator
Exciting opportunity in Port Moresby, PNG — locally engaged position

PHAMA is an Australian and New Zealand Government funded aid-for-trade program, operating in five countries throughout the Pacific (Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu) and PNG. PHAMA’s goal is to increase exports of high value primary products, thereby contributing to increased economic growth, private sector development and improved rural livelihoods in predominantly agriculture-based small country economies.
URS is the managing contractor of PHAMA and we are seeking a proactive individual for the role of National Market Access Coordinator (NMAC) in Port Moresby. The NMAC will provide administrative and secretariat support to the Market Access Working Group (MAWG), including providing strategic guidance to the MAWG on identifying, prioritising and budgeting for activity work planning and implementation. The successful candidate will be part of a local project office in Port Moresby, working in liaison with the Program Management Office for PHAMA which is based in Suva, Fiji. Functions will involve accurate and timely completion of administrative, financial and management system outputs, while maintaining constructive relationships with the PHAMA team.
Working as part of a regionally-based team, the successful candidate will have sound organisational skills and a proven ability to set priorities. Applicants will also have a strong ability to respond to and manage program risks and issues in a timely and effective manner.
The successful candidate must have extensive relevant tertiary qualification/s and substantial relevant project or program management experience. Experience of the agricultural sector would be advantageous.
