Expected Duration

  • 6 months

Duties and Responsibilities

  • UNPAID internship, designed to be full-time and in-person; part-time, remote, or hybrid arrangements may be considered upon request.
  • Interns are assigned to the Regional Disarmament, Information and Outreach Branch under the supervision of a primary supervisor.
  • Adhere to official working hours: five days per week, with a one-hour lunch break.

Daily Responsibilities May Include

  • Assist in drafting and preparing official documents, summaries, talking points, speeches, remarks, and web content.
  • Conduct document, media, and internet research.
  • Provide assistance during conferences and meetings.
  • Develop media products for web and social networking platforms.
  • Contribute to content management and the development of disarmament stories for the Office’s website and social media channels.

Qualifications / Special Skills

  • Must meet one of the following at the time of application:
    • Enrolled in or completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
    • Enrolled in or completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).

Languages

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
  • UN official languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.
