The internship is located in the Office of the Secretariat of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety (Special Envoy), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), Geneva.
Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Secretariat, the intern will:
Undertake research to support the identification of potential partners and inform the activities of the Special Envoy.
Draft articles, briefing notes, and other outreach communications to raise visibility of the global road safety crisis.
Conduct research on initiatives highlighting the nexus between road safety and other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Support events, campaigns, projects, and activities planned for the Special Envoy.
Assist with relevant activities on social media.
Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications / Special Skills
At the time of application, candidates must meet one of the following:
Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent).
Languages
Fluency in English is required.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations.
Costs for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
