Functional responsibilities
O/A Oficial de Apoio à Gestão do Projeto (Coordenador/a do Projeto Urbanista) é responsável por produzir/ler os documentos necessários para iniciar o projeto e ter um conhecimento profundo dos termos, condições e dos respectivos papéis e responsabilidades dos parceiros co-executores e partes interessadas do projeto para garantir que os produtos do(s) projeto(s) sejam capazes de atender aos objetivos do projeto.
O Oficial de Apoio à Gestão de Projectos (Coordenador de Projecto Urbanista) trabalhará em estreita colaboração e sob a supervisão do/a Gerente de Projeto, colaborando com ele nas atividades de gestão e coordenação relativas à componente urbanística, bem como interagindo com partes interessadas externas na sua experiência.

Adicionalmente, o Coordenador do Projeto Urbanista apoiará o PM na coordenação da equipe multidisciplinar de consultores com técnicos de planejadores urbanos, arquitetos, economistas, sociais e ambientais, a fim de entregar os produtos do projeto. Neste sentido, as principais responsabilidades são:

The Project Management Support Officer (Urbanist Project Coordinator) is responsible to produce/read the documents required to initiate the project, and have a thorough understanding of the terms, conditions, and the respective roles and responsibilities of the co-executing partners and project stakeholders to ensure the project(s) products are capable of meeting the project´s objectives.
The Project Management Support Officer (Urbanist Project Coordinator) will work in close collaboration and under the supervision of Project Manager, collaborating with him in the management and coordination activities regarding urbanist component as well as interacting with external stakeholders on his expertise.
The tasks and responsibilities of the Urbanist Project Coordinator will include:
establish working procedures and coordination mechanisms with the Project Manager and the co-executing partners.
work with the Project Manager to define and implement the appropriate workflows and procedures related to the approval of project documents.
ensure adequate inter-institutional coordination and stakeholder participation mechanisms during project implementation, upon directions from the Project Manager.
support project team communications and ensure stakeholders are aware of project activities, progress, and deadlines
manage the information flows between the Partner, UNOPS and the Project Manager and the co-executing partners.
support in the negotiation and establishment of institutions partnerships for achieving projects results, including preparation/revision/amendment/extension of legal and cooperation documents for the approval of the parts involved.
participate in workshops, seminars, meetings and other events related to the project´s objectives, when requested by the Project Manager.
ensure that project documents, meeting reports and records are properly filed and shared with all project stakeholders.
work with the Project Manager to prepare and consolidate all project progress and financial reports and any other documentation required by UNOPS.
follow-up with the Project Manager and partners to guarantee that the project is implemented according to the agreed work plans.
support the Project Manager on the analysis and approval of workplans and activity reports regarding partners..
follow up the activities of the partners considering activities planned versus executed and physical progress versus financial expenditure.
monitor and support the revision of all project related documents in coordination with theProject Manager.
Additionally, the Urbanist Project Coordinator will support the PM in the coordination of Multidisciplinary team of consultants with technicals on urban planners, architects, economists, social and environmental, in order to deliver the project products. In this regard, the main responsibilities are:
Support the PM on the coordination of the multidisciplinary team in order to provide the following products:
provide urban planning and design inputs to ongoing planning initiatives
develop clear urban planning proposals, drawings and related reports.
review of proposals and designs.
provide inputs to guide or facilitate the delivery of relevant urban legislation reviews and financial mechanisms in view of plan implementation and planning processes support.
develop and organize participatory, multi-stakeholder processes tailor made for the projects in a specific context.
implement urban intervention works.
implement urban development initiatives focused on socio-economic inclusion, local economic development, circular economy, environmental sustainability and climate change readiness.

Education/Experience/Language requirements
1. FormaçãoEducation
University Degree (bachelor’s degree / first level) in Urban Planning, Architecture or related management fields is required.
Advanced University Degree in urban planning, urban design or related disciplines is highly desirable.
Work Experience
At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in urban planning, urban design, policy-making or related areas;
Experience in project management t, with focus on monitoring, reporting, development and team coordination.
It’s an asset experience in coordination of Multidisciplinary teams
Prince2 Foundations is a strong asset.
Language
Fluency, oral and written, in Portuguese
Intermediate, oral and written, in English or Spanish
