Duties and Responsibilities
The duration of the internship is for three (3) months with a possibility of extension. This internship is UNPAID, in person and full-time (35 hours per week), on the United Nations premise working arrangement from New York, USA. This internship is designed to be full-time and in-person but can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful candidate to part-time (20 hours per week) and/or remote.
The position is located in the Division for Palestinian Rights of the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs at UN Headquarters in New York. The Division for Palestinian Rights serves as the Secretariat of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP) of the General Assembly.
This Internship will require social/digital media management skills, including content creation and a variety of video skills, including video editing with a particular emphasis on animations. The Intern should be familiar with common video and image editing software packages, such as Adobe After Effects, including subtitles and visual effects. The selected individual should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. Relevant training or practical experience in Adobe After Effects and other video and photo editing software is required. For this internship, studies in Communication and Advertising are preferred.
Languages
English or French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the internship advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official language of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is desirable.
