Job Description

Position Summary:

PADF seeks a Regional Field Coordinator (RFC), based in Georgetown, Guyana, for the upcoming USAID-funded Guyana Extractives Sector Transparency project.

Length:

This anticipated one-year program will help Guyana achieve transparency and good governance in the extractive industry. The RFC will work under the supervision of the Chief of Party (COP) and play an active role in a diverse team of technical specialists including a Team Leader/ Program Manager, and a Justice or Civil Society Specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • The Regional Field Coordinator (RFC) will coordinate field-based activities and grassroots community engagement for the implementation of the Guyana Extractives Sector Transparency Project;
  • S/he will also be responsible for building positive and collaborative relationships with local stakeholders, mainly community-level and grassroots civil society organizations;
  • s/he will support the planning and implementation of evaluation activities including field activity reporting and data collection;
  • The RFC will also be in charge of leading and participating on targeted training activities for local stakeholders from government, private sector, media, and civil society;
  • S/he must have a sound understanding of the Caribbean culture, society, and political and governance structures;
  • Other duties as required.

Education, Experience and Other Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international relations, public policy, education, or related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years previous field research and evaluation experience and regional expertise in the Caribbean;
  • Familiarity with community-level and ethnic dynamics in Guyana strongly preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including demonstrated leadership and team-building experience;
  • Written and spoken fluency in English required, knowledge of local regional languages is an asset.
