Job Description

Chemonics International is seeking a Senior Operations Manager. The Senior Operations Manager in the CEO’s Office contributes to CEO Office, Executive Management Team (EMT), and Front Office (C-Suite) management. They serve as a strategic and operational resource in support of Executive Office and EMT operations and activities. This includes recruitment, onboarding, talent management, budgeting, event and meeting management, and executive and staff satisfaction and team building. The senior manager also provides direct operational, coordination, and communications support to executives in the CEO Office and surge support to the Board of Directors, as needed. Responsibilities:

  • Provides senior level management and operational expertise to support the CEO Office, EMT, Front Office, and Board of Directors
  • Manages operational process improvement for the Front Office, EMT, and Board of Directors
  • Provides operational support to the President and CEO and other executives in the CEO Office, including project coordination, supporting with scheduling and capturing actions for meetings, drafting responses for stakeholder and partner communications, and other needs as identified
  • Supports President and CEO and other executive presentations
  • Works with Operations Director to support corporate strategic planning, annual updates, and regular report outs on status
  • Supports executive and other high-level staff recruitment and onboarding and ensures they adhere to recruitment and onboarding process and standards
  • Supports staff, EMT, and Board team building and education and learning efforts
  • Provides meeting management and operational support for recurring executive, board, and Executive Office staff meetings and periodic team-building events
  • Under guidance of Operations Director, leads event planning for corporate-wide events
  • Supports CEO Office and Executive Management Team retreats
  • Applies an entrepreneurial approach by identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements, staff satisfaction, and workplace efficiencies. This includes working with the Chief of Staff and Operations Director in the CEO’s Office to build efficiencies and create process improvements for the division, Front Office, EMT, and Board of Directors
  • Works with co-manager and Operations Director to support management of Executive Office budget
  • Supervises, mentors, and evaluates operations team staff, communicating clear performance goals and standards, offering regular performance feedback, prompt resolution of problems, and time and opportunity to grow and develop in key competency areas
  • Participates in high-level new business roles, including coordinator, cost-preparer, management writer, proposal lead, or technical writer
  • Participates in corporate initiatives or special projects, as needed
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business administration or other related field preferred
  • Ability to solve complex technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices and trends in executive management, board management and corporate governance preferred
  • Experience working with executives to implement key strategies preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams and meetings, develop presentations and trainings for small to large audiences, and facilitate team discussions
  • Experience creating and managing project plans, continual improvement, and operations to support effective implementation of programs and initiatives
  • Experience and skill in designing high-level presentations
  • Knowledge of international development and experience living or working in developing countries preferred
  • English proficiency required; foreign language skills a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Ability to handle confidential information and materials with discretion
  • Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others

The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $84,320 - $105,400.

An employee’s pay position will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
