Job Description

World Learning is a leading international non-profit organization and higher education institution working globally to enhance the capacity and commitment of individuals, institutions, and communities to create a more sustainable, peaceful, and just world. We are seeking a consultant based in Jordan to support World Learning’s efforts to position for USAID Jordan opportunities in the education sector. The consultancy is for approximately 10 business days.

Responsibilities

• Develop landscape analysis on potential funding opportunities for education programming in Jordan including USAID Jordan funding priorities

• Arrange and attend meetings with government officials and other key stakeholders in Amman to introduce World Learning and gather information related to Ministerial structures, policies, and priorities in education.

• Identify Jordanian organizations working in education sector

• Produce comprehensive report of findings including contacts for key stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred

• Strong understanding of Jordan’s education sector, especially related to basic education, including assessment, teacher training, inclusive education, materials development, online/distance learning, and parent/community engagement.

• Experience working with Ministry of Education and/or experience with USAID and understanding of USAID programming

• Experience working in a similar capacity with international organizations preferred

• Fluency in English and Arabic required

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, and Power Point; comfortable using email and Microsoft Teams
