Support the UN-Habitat Lebanon Country Programme in promoting an active social media presence: X, Facebook, Instagram, and other advised platforms.
Monitor inboxes of UN-Habitat Lebanon social media accounts and propose responses as appropriate.
Ensure follow-up on social media platforms regarding activities of the UN-Habitat Lebanon Country Programme.
Follow UN-Habitat corporate social media platforms and communications, disseminating and sharing relevant content at the country level.
Assist colleagues in-house on writing stories from field visits, interviewing beneficiaries, responding to social media requests, and proposing campaigns showcasing UN-Habitat work.
Support drafting various communication documents on behalf of UN-Habitat Lebanon, including web stories, press releases, emails, letters, messaging, and outreach material.
Assist in updating the filing system of high-quality photos of UN-Habitat work for communication, advocacy, and visibility purposes.
Provide communication, organizational, and logistical support at UN-Habitat projects and events.
Assist in editing, reviewing reports, and translations.
Perform any other tasks as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications/Special Skills
Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or higher), or
Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level), or
Have graduated with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or equivalent.
Computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
Ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, showing tolerance and understanding.
Preferred areas of study: communications, public relations, international relations, journalism, marketing, advertising, or related fields.
No professional work experience is required, but the field of study must be closely related to the internship.
Must provide proof of enrollment or graduation as per the above criteria.
Languages
Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
Additional Information
Interns are not financially remunerated; costs for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the internship country may need the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
