Work Location

  • In-person, Beirut, Lebanon

Expected Duration

  • 6 months

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support in developing creative and effective communication materials that enhance the visibility and reach of UN-Habitat’s projects and programme.
  • Support in developing signboards, reports, publications, promotional items, posters, leaflets, maps, presentations, newsletters, and infographics.
  • Assist in developing visuals, posts, and videos to communicate each project/event both online and offline.
  • Support in editing and retouching videos and photos for each project/event and for UN-Habitat’s social media platforms.
  • Maintain and archive all produced materials in the filing system.
  • Conduct research to stay up to date with the latest technology and trends in visual content creation to tell stories and connect with audiences across various platforms.
  • Maintain UN-Habitat’s guidelines throughout all developed communication material.
  • Perform other activities and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Special Skills

  • Must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or higher)
    • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level)
    • Graduated with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or equivalent
  • Computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  • Ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, demonstrating tolerance and understanding.
  • Preferred areas of study: Graphic Design, Advertising, or any related field.
  • No professional work experience required, but field of study must be closely related to the internship.
  • Must provide proof of enrollment or graduation as per the above criteria.

Languages

  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
  • Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.

Additional Information

  • Interns are not financially remunerated; costs for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
  • Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the internship country may need the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
  • Successful candidates should clarify specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer
