The Roddenberry Foundation is seeking a Training & Community Director to cultivate, shape, and grow the Roddenberry network as a dynamic space for social change leaders to connect, learn, and collaborate.

The Roddenberry Foundation makes catalytic, timely investments in original ideas and extraordinary people who can change the world. Through four core programs, the Foundation casts a wide net to uncover and support impactful, often untested ideas and the individuals and teams whose vision and leadership have the potential to bring them to fruition.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Roddenberry Foundation seeks its first Training & Community Director, a relationship-driven innovator who will seed and strengthen connections and collaboration among the entrepreneurs, organizers, researchers, partners, and advisors in the Roddenberry community. We’re looking for someone who has experience training, facilitating, and/or coaching and who understands and finds joy in building communities; who loves connecting people; and who can mobilize community members to learn, share, and engage.

The ideal candidate will have experience building and nurturing networks, coalitions, or communities of practice. And through this experience, they’ll have used feedback loops and community insight to inform decision-making. To do all of this, we’re looking for someone with great interpersonal skills who is empathic, intellectually curious, and genuine. This person is animated by the potential of community.

  • Comfort with the messiness of community, as well as the detail-oriented, multi-faceted nature of community management
  • Comfort working in ambiguous settings, building buy-in to test and iterate new ideas
  • Comfort working autonomously, in a largely remote environment
  • Strong organizational, planning and logistics skills
  • Working knowledge of explicit and implicit bias, and strong self-awareness of their own
