Alessandro Maffioli

Alessandro Maffioli is chief of the development effectiveness division at IDB Invest. He oversees the organization’s Impact Management Framework, which includes a series of tools to measure and manage the development impact of investments from beginning to end. During his 16 years of experience at the IDB Group, Alessandro has coordinated impact evaluations of projects in areas including agricultural development, science and technology, small and medium-sized enterprise productivity, and access to credit.
Alessia Chiocchetti

Alessia Chiocchetti

Alessia Chiocchetti completed a bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern studies and Arabic language from Cà Foscari University of Venice and a master's in human rights and humanitarian action at the University of Siena and Kingston University in London. She has interned with the U.N. Development Program in Yemen, worked with the International Volunteer Service Association in Lebanon, and served as a U.N. Children's Fund consultant. Alessia was a fellow in our Barcelona office from June to September 2007 before joining the Italian Association for Aid to Children as program coordinator in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Alessia is a native speaker of Italian and fluent in English with a working knowledge of Arabic and Spanish.

Alessia Gianoncelli is the head of knowledge, community, and market development at EVPA, where she is responsible for research activities, content development, and data collection. Since 2014, she has co-authored publications, practical cases, and articles on venture philanthropy, impact measurement and management, impact strategies, the European impact ecosystem, as well as tailored and hybrid finance.

Alessio Perrone is a freelance editor and reporter at Devex. Throughout his career, he has reported on issues at the intersection of policy, environment and human interest for outlets including The Guardian, Scientific American, TIME, and others. He’s based in Milan, Italy.

Alex Bernhardt

Alex Bernhardt is the founder and manager of Guy Carpenter's GC Micro Risk Solutions group. Under his direction, GC Micro now manages microreinsurance programs in Asia, Africa and Latin America. He also leads a multistakeholder project team that develops an index-based microreinsurance for small-holder farmers in Mozambique. He regularly contributes content to industry publications and speaks at international events.

Alex Carle

Alex Carle is the director of International Programmes & Partnerships at the British Red Cross, where she's worked since 2013. She has a master's in international affairs and diplomacy as well as child psychology. She started out as a child protection specialist in New Zealand working with recidivist youth offenders. She then worked for over 10 years with nongovernment organizations living in contexts such as Haiti, Dominican Republic, Iraq, Syria, Occupied Palestinian Territories, and Kenya for over 10 years.

Alex Dehgan

Alex Dehgan is the CEO at Conservation X Labs. He is also a professor of the practice of sustainability at Arizona State University. Alex previously served as the chief scientist of USAID, and created the agency’s DARPA for Development, and worked in multiple positions in the Office of the Secretary at the State Department. Alex was also the founding country director of the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Afghanistan program and helped create Afghanistan’s first national park.

Alex Farley joined Publish What You Fund as a project manager in April 2020. She is responsible for coordinating advocacy, research, and donor engagement to improve the transparency of aid and development finance for gender equality and women’s economic justice.

Alex Farrington

Alex Farrington is head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa partnerships at Lightful. He is a strategic partnerships specialist who has worked across the humanitarian, international development, and the United Kingdom third sector. Before joining Lightful, he worked for five years with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy, the Malaria Consortium, the Living Earth Foundation, and Changemakers, now The Foyer Federation, as well as co-founding a social enterprise in Sierra Leone.
