Sue Coates is the executive director ad interim of the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council, which is hosted by the United Nations Office for Project Services in Geneva and advocates for improved sanitation and hygiene for the most vulnerable and marginalized people around the world. Coates joined WSSCC in July 2018. Previously, she was the regional WASH adviser for UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa in Nairobi and chief of WASH in UNICEF India, among other positions.

He is also a nonresident fellow at the Center for Global Development and a board member for the Centre for Disaster Protection. Sufian holds a master’s degree in Economic Development and Planning from Addis Ababa University.
