Cornelius Smith, Bahamas ambassador and permanent representative to the Organization of American States, pushed for the retention of FEMCIDI, an OAS fund that targets regional cooperation and sustainable development. Smith said he was “deeply concerned that the future of FEMCIDI is in jeopardy,” as budget gaps are prompting member states to evaluate their level of financial support to the fund, according to Thebahamasweekly.com.
