Salaries for global development roles depend on many different factors, such as location, type of organization, and sector. Many employers have salary grids to structure how much they pay staff members, but not all of these are public.
In this edition of Career Hub, I’m sharing what Devex has learned about salaries in an analysis of over 200 director-level jobs. Plus, you can explore exciting new job opportunities at Tetra Tech, the African Union Commission, and many more top development organizations.
+ ICYMI: Our latest career event featured insights from development expert Simone Anzböck to help job candidates from various backgrounds carve out nontraditional career paths in globaldev. Career Account members can watch the recording for free.

The fear from the employer side is that you'll get in the job and be very quickly bored with it or not want to do what is necessary of the job. So as much as you can alleviate those fears through a cover letter and talk about why you want this job and how it's part of fitting into your overall career goals, that can help alleviate it [the concern].
And if it’s because you are just really wanting to do a big career switch and you’re willing to start from the beginning so you can learn those valuable skills, making that clear is really important.
