    Mere weeks ahead of this year’s United Nations climate conference, COP 28, the big question of funding looms. Why is money for low-income countries and for adaptation lagging? With a lot of emphasis on meeting commitments to low-income countries, how can institutions and investors create the right tools and ensure funding doesn’t leave out small island states and the most climate-vulnerable nations, even if they are middle-income?

    Some existing funds appear to be missing the mark, and it’s unclear whether new funding efforts will truly fill the gap. We’ll be writing a lot about climate throughout the next month, but here are a few stories that should be on your radar today.

    The Green Climate Fund may be the biggest global climate fund, but it’s not doing a great job of getting money out the door to communities struggling to deal with the impacts of climate change, according to several NGOs.
