The United Kingdom’s aid agency has published a framework detailing how it plans to monitor progress on its development activities in the coming years.

The Results Framework lists a set of indicators the Department for International Development plans to deliver by 2015. It aims to give DfID a better idea of “what works” in a drive to increase value for money.

The indicators are arranged into four levels.

The first covers the Millennium Development Goals. The second lists the development outcomes DfID aims to achieve through its bilateral programs and contributions to multilateral organizations, such as U.N. agencies and international financial institutions.

Levels 3 and 4, meanwhile, focus on the agency’s operational and organizational effectiveness.

With the release of the framework, DfID again shows its commitment to transparency and accountability. It topped last year’s aid transparency index by Publish What You Fund.
