The European Commission is introducing new strategies in managing the funds of the European Union, including the creation of its own multi-donor trust funds.
The trust funds will enable the EU, its member states and citizens to pool resources to provide coordinated and prompt financial assistance in crisis and post-crisis situations.
The decision will also provide more scope for integrating public and private funding as it will ease the mobilization of EU resources with private companies through public-private partnerships.
