The Boston-based global health nonprofit JSI has laid off half of its staff due to the U.S. foreign aid freeze. This accounts for about 1,100 staffers across the U.S. and international programming.
The organization, which was established in 1978, works on improving and building public health capacity globally. In its work, it collaborates with government agencies, the private sector, and local nonprofit and civil society organizations.
“In this challenging moment, we remain committed to improving health and education in communities here in the U.S. and around the world,” a spokesperson told Devex.
