Georgia may receive the next credit tranche under the Poverty Reduction and Growth Fund facility by the end of September, according to John Wakeman-Linn, who heads the Middle East and Central Asia department of the International Monetary Fund. Wakeman-Linn based his projection on Georgia’s satisfactory performance in meeting the conditions under the program. Since the inception of the PRGF scheme for the former Soviet republic on June 4, 2004, the IMF has extended $80.7 million out the total commitment worth $144 million to Georgia.
