Opinion: Our food system org failed on several fronts and that's OK

Failure can be one of the most powerful tools we have for progress. Clim-Eat founder Dhanush Dinesh goes over one year of failures in this opinion article.

    By Dhanush Dinesh // 03 May 2023

Last year, Devex published an article about me and the organization I founded, Clim-Eat, dubbing it the food and climate organization “designed to fail.”

It is true, in the sense that we believe that tackling the food and climate crises requires big risks to be taken, risks with innovations and systemic reforms. Some of those risks will inevitably result in failed ventures. But I’m a strong believer that failure enables us to learn, take stock, and change course where necessary, thus making success more likely in the future.

As Clim-Eat marked its first anniversary recently, I asked its small team to share what they considered were the organization’s failures. The feedback was clear: We had failed multiple times on multiple fronts.
