The U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, relies on contractors and partner organizations for their development projects to bring in specific technical expertise and to help streamline logistical activities, since several USAID projects take place abroad. In most cases, it is also the responsibility of contractors and partners to recruit the needed professionals for a project.
One leading role is the chief of party, or COP, a senior member responsible for USAID-funded projects. Those who will qualify for this position are expected to take charge and manage the implementation of development projects in target areas.
As we continue our ongoing exploration of the top global development employers across locations and sectors around the world, we now look into the top employers hiring for COP positions in the last 12 months, based on jobs posted on Devex’s job board from July 15, 2023, to July 15, 2024. We’ve also included USAID grant reward data for each organization to provide further context on their USAID-funded activity.
