The top global development hubs hiring in Africa in 2025

We take a look at the top employers across Africa based on hiring activity in 2025.

    By Genevieve Gregorio // 28 November 2025
Africa, the world’s second-largest continent by both population and land area, is a highly diverse region with a mix of low-, middle-, and high-income countries and rapidly growing economies. Its significant challenges, including internal conflicts and climate-related disasters, make it a key focus for global development initiatives, particularly in health, education, agriculture, and humanitarian response. Development organizations working across the continent have faced further challenges this year with the foreign aid funding cuts imposed by the United States, which was a key donor in the region. In this article, we take a look at the countries with the most job openings in North, East, West, Central, and southern Africa over the past 12 months. We highlight the organizations most actively hiring in these regions, focusing on employers beyond the United Nations and other large INGOs and MDBs that have an income of over $500 million. As we continue to explore the global development hiring landscape, this update highlights the top global development employers in Africa since our last analysis in October 2024.
