This year, employment in the global development sector has seen significant shifts.
Since the USAID’s stop-work order was announced on Jan. 24, Devex data suggests that there have been 3,216 global development opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean, a drop of 29% compared to the 4,549 opportunities in the equivalent period last year.
Data also suggests the top recruiting employers in the region are multilateral organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank, Organization of Ibero-American States and United Nations Development Programme country offices, and other notable organizations such as the Global Green Growth Institute and World Resources Institute which are not locally founded but have local presence.
