Who pledged what at last week’s Darfur donor conference? Devex got the exclusive full breakdown.
Donor governments, aid organizations and multilateral institutions pledged support for Darfur’s reconstruction and development at last week’s conference in Qatar. The total: $1.05 billion.

The pledges come in the form of grants, loans, banking facilities, credits and technical assistance, according to the conference’s final communique acquired by Devex.
The Sudanese government also pledged to spend $2.65 billion for the region.
The total is short of the $7.2 billion needed over a six-year plan for Darfur, but it is enough to get foundational and short-term projects going, which is estimated to cost some $177.4 million.
A second donor conference is expected in the next two years to check on the delivery of the pledges.
