Climate change is closely linked to many of the challenges hindering global development and the eradication of poverty. The Sustainable Development Goals call for urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts, including food insecurity, clean water and sanitation, gender equality, sustainable cities and communities, and peace and justice.
Global development solutions and programs, which tackle a whole range of issues, are therefore increasingly including efforts to address climate change.
There are many organizations, foundations, and institutions focusing their work specifically on climate change — from research into clean energy sources to coordinating international policies on carbon emissions, or implementing projects on the ground for habitat conservation. These organizations hire a range of professionals, including researchers, consultants, policymakers, and project staff.
