UN Launches Online Tool to Track Climate Pledges

The United Nations Environment Program has unveiled a new online application that will allow the public to monitor countries' promises on fighting climate change. The

will provide updates on pledges announced in Copenhagen and enables comparison and consolidation of all commitments made to date. UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner said: "With this tracker, everyone - within the [Copenhagen] conference and beyond - can, from their office or living room, monitor the ambition of governments to 'seal a convincing deal' by 18 December," when the event will close.
