The United Nations launched on Sept. 7 an aid appeal of more than USD14 million for flood victims in Burkina Faso. The money will be used to help about 105,000 people affected by the floods rehabilitate their homes and sources of livelihood in the next six months. The U.N. Central Emergency Response Fund has already allocated USD2 million for aid agencies working to assist people affected by the disaster.
