Guyana has secured USD13.1 million in development aid from the U.S. government. The amount includes USD8.3 million to bolster public health systems as well as improve HIV/AIDS response of the country’s civil society and private sector, and USD2 million to enhance democratic processes and governance institutions. The remaining USD2.8 million will be used to support private sector competitiveness and combat climate change, Kaieteur News reports.
