Jobs within the United Nations system are highly sought after and difficult to land. But are there things job seekers can keep in mind when applying to these positions that would help give them an edge during the application process?
“It all depends on the context, but there’s certainly transferable skills that we look for,” said Skender Nushi, the UN Refugee Agency’s chief of talent development and performance, during a recent Devex digital event.
Nushi and Stephan Grieb, UNHCR’s deputy director of human resources, spoke of what these skills are and much more in terms of what applicants need to know when pursuing a job with the agency and the U.N. in general.
