Tjada D'Oyen McKenna is Mercy Corps’ new CEO. She starts in the new role in October.
McKenna has been the chief operating officer of CARE since May 2019. She previously served as COO at Habitat for Humanity International and took up roles within the U.S. Agency of International Development and at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
McKenna succeeds Neal Keny-Guyer, who led the charity for more than two decades. Keny-Guyer resigned last year over the charity’s handling of sexual abuse allegations involving one of the organization’s co-founders.
