World Bank Backs Production of Pneumococcal Vaccines

The

established a new financial mechanism to help create a viable market for pneumococcal vaccines. The Advance Market Commitment will provide upfront financing for incremental costs of vaccine production to address the demand from poor nations. Italy, Canada, Russia, Norway, the U.K. and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation committed a total of USD1.5 billion for the AMC pilot.
