The Alliance for Energy Efficiency and Renewables (AEER) is a Moldovan NGO founded on May 14, 2007 as a follow-up of USAID-funded Municipal Network for Energy Efficiency (MUNEE) Program, implemented in Moldova during 2001–2007 by the Alliance to Save Energy, USA-based organization.
The goal of AEER is to contribute to the promotion of strategies and policies in the field of energy efficiency (EE), renewable energy resources (RES) and environment protection. For this AEER applies a comprehensive bottom-up and top-down approach to energy efficiency that covers three key areas such as:
AEER is an official supporter of the EU Initiative “Covenant of Mayors for Energy and Climate” in the Republic of Moldova.
AEER is a partner for 2 projects under the EU Funded Covenant of Mayors Demonstration Projects (CoMDeP).
AEER is a board member of the EU funded Moldova Energy and Biomass Project.
AEER serves as a secretariat for the Moldovan Network of Energy Communities including 40 city halls, enterprises and natural persons from the Republic of Moldova.
AEER is a main partner of the Republican Union for Housing Development “Gestionarul”, Moldovan non-profit organization uniting more than 30 Housing Associations representing more than 9000 apartments as well as initiative citizens from Moldovan cities: Chisinau, Balti, Ocnita, Ungheni.
