CoS believe in and pray to the Triune God who creates, delivers and gives life. They believe in life and love God as primordial existence, a God that is within us and in everything outside.
They believe that the Atonement of Jesus Christ provides the opportunity for reconciliation between people, between man and God and between man and the rest of creation.
They ask that the worldwide church to be a community of hope where despair and resignation do not have the last word.

To believe in the God of life is to move from despondency to courage. Centre of the Christian faith is Jesus' death and his resurrection on Easter morning, providing a defiant hope of life - it's never too late!

Refugee and Migration
The foundation of the work is the love of our neighbor.
Some wonder why the Swedish Church is committed to the refugee issue. As fellow human beings and Christians we have the responsibility to protect each other's lives, regardless of background, tradition or religion. God calls us to see, not to look away or close your eyes. Therefore, it is natural for us to work in various ways for people to flee'll be better.
Sustainable Development
We are living today are the first generation that can eradicate poverty but also the last to act in time on climate change. It is a finding that breathes hope but also frustration that sometimes change is so slow.
A concentrated effort and a good dose of creativity is needed if we are to meet the great societal challenges that we are in the midst of both globally and at home. Ongoing climate change, water shortages and major gaps in the world between those who have and have not, shows that we must find new ways to produce, consume, live and share.
Sustainability issues are ever present in the Swedish church activities. With human dignity in focus, they work for the people living in deprivation both in Sweden and abroad, regardless of whether the cause is poverty or disease, environmental degradation or ongoing conflict.

Church act in crises and disasters
Swedish Church's emergency management relies on the principles of responsibility, proximity and similarity. This means that a crisis, so far as possible, be managed on the basis of regular responsibilities, where it occurred and the regular work.
