Conservation International (CI) established its program in Ecuador in 2001; since then they have collaborated with a wide network of key allies, including public institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), grassroots organizations, universities, companies and individuals committed to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in priority areas, identified by their values natural and cultural, and their ability to generate environmental services essential for the sustainable development of the country.

They focus their efforts on the conservation of natural ecosystems and the maintenance of the environmental services they generate, in order to improve the quality of life of present and future generations.
