About

Danmission is Denmark's oldest and largest missionary organization and is anchored in the People's Church. The highest authority is the Board of Representatives.

Danmission is a private organization established January 1, 2000 by a merger of the Danish Missionary Society (DMS) and Dansk Santalmission. Danmission continues the work started by DMS on 17 June 1821 and by Danish Santalmission on 26 September 1867. More than 8000 people across the country are involved in Danmission - of which 2,500 volunteers are only in Danmission Recycling.

Danmission's work is based on the Christian faith, the whole human being, equality, respect and reciprocity

What values does Danmission take into account?

Danmission works out of a value set that applies to all organization employees in all activities. The values help define who we are and Danmission's identity. Here are the values that we base on:

The Christian faith

Their foundation is the Christian faith and a desire to share this faith with others.

The whole human being

They work out of the belief that human beings have both spiritual, mental and material needs that must be covered in order for humans to live a dignified life.

equality

They see all human beings equal regardless of faith, ethnicity and gender. We distance ourselves from discrimination.

respect

They respect people's inviolability and freedom to decide on their own lives.

reciprocity

They wish to engage in equal cooperation with churches and organizations where both parties provide and receive.

What is Danmission's vision?

Danmission's vision is a world that opens everywhere for God's life-giving, saving and constructive activity as we encounter it in Jesus Christ.

What is Danmission's mission?

Danmission's call is to participate in the mission of God through two independent main tasks that can not be mixed, can not be divided and can not replace each other:

  1. To strengthen the ministry of the church so that the gospel is heard and people rooted in Christian faith.
  2. To serve fellow human beings and society so that everyone can live a dignified life in peace and in a righteous society.

The basis for these two tasks is found in the dual love commandment, why the work always relates to both God and people.
